I have just started the matchmaking for the next K-Star show at the Tower ballroom, Birmingham.
The show is on Sun 27th Sept and it is looking like it will be really good!
The show is being filmed for P4TV, so it will be shown worldwide on their website, plus we have Event photography booked to take photos of the event!
I have just made and confirmed the first few fights, I have some good main events lined up, I just have to confirm them.
2 massive guys to start the ball rolling, Artur from Thaitans gym (115kg) Vs Jason Dutton from Impact Thai (120kg).
Local K-Star fighter Adrian Maguire is taking on Jack Scott-Roberts from London Muay Thai academy.
In a kinda rematch (fight should have been on another show, but didn’t happen) K-Star’s Nathan Bendon takes on Ryan Coley from Pythons.
Also from Pythons, Luke Longley faces Andy Stone from Impact Thai.
Tickets will be going on sale very soon for just £20, or a VIP Ringside table for just £300 seating 10!
Fights are just starting to get matched, so anyone interested, please get in touch via email stevelogan@btconnect.com
Tickets will be on sale at www.k-starthaiboxing.com or call 0121 331 4074 for more details.
A great night for K-Star fighters at the Ramada hotel in Sutton at the weekend.
Ryan Subhan won the vacant WKA Junior English title, beating Hayden Smith from Manchester. Adrian Maguire and Nathan Epps both fought brilliantly but lost on points, Dan Edwards got a draw and Luke Davies won his fight.
Steve Logan said it was great to have fighters from all 3 of the K-Star Academies fighting, it just shows the depth of talent we have at K-Star.
Some of these fighters will now be fighting at the AKA event in Manchester on 30th May.
IKF World Champion Damien Trainor recently fought in Hong Kong against Bryan 'Stormy Kid'
Damien fought brilliantly but got robbed by the judges!
Damien outclassed his opponent in every round, but the home town won!
Very disappointing end to a great show. The WMC I1 show is one of the biggest in Hong Kong and was very well run, but the judging in this fight was outrageous.
Damien is now back at K-Star where he teaches at K-Star’s Perry Barr academy, a couple of days rest, then Damien will be training hard with his instructor Steve Logan for his next fight at the end of may.
Twins Carl and Dave Copestake are fighting in Manchester on 4th July.
Carl will be fighting John Dennis from Spartan gym in Manchester and dave is fighting Matt Sheedy from Eagles gym in Wales.
This is a big show with loads of big fights on.
Please see your instructor for more details.
Female K-Star fighters Kim Shannon and Ana Goncalves are fighting on the UK's Premier Female Thai Boxing show, LADYKILLERS on Sat 9th May in Manchester.
Kim Shannon is fighting and Ana is fighting
This will be a great show and we will be arranging a coach from K-Star to take our K-Star supporters to the show, call 0121 331 for details.
| Two Schoolboy fighters from K-Star proved once again that they are the best Thai Boxers in Britain!! 15 year old Ryan Subhan and 16 year old Nathan Bendon who train at K-Star Thai Boxing academy in Sutton Coldfield, fought off competitors from all over the country at the open British Championships on Saturday. This was the second year in a row that Ryan who is a pupil at Kingsbury Sports College has won the coveted British title and Nathan who is a pupil at Plantsbrook school in Sutton Coldfield won the title for an incredible 3rd year!! K-Star Director Steve Logan said ‘ everyone at K-Star is very proud of the boys, they train incredibly hard and are fantastic ambassadors for K-Star. The standard at the Championships this year was much higher, so they did great to retain their titles, they re part of the next generation of K-Star superstars.’ Both boys started training just as a hobby and a way to keep fit and gain confidence, but as that confidence grew they decided to try competing and haven’t look back. Nathan has also started working part time at K-Star in Sutton town centre and one day hopes to become an instructor. K-Star had 11 competitors in the Championships and as well as Ryan and Nathan they also had 2 Bronze medallists, 9yr old Lewis Coley and 10yr old Luke Christopher. Other competitors were, Sohan Akhram, Bradley Coley, Naffess Khan, Ellis Adcock, Orlana McGonigle, Bilal Hussain and Georgia Shoker. K-Star have had a long tradition of producing champions over the years and now have 3 full-time Thai Boxing academies, Sutton Coldfield, Perry Barr and Birmingham City Centre. |
